Celestial Seasonings Campaign - Visibly the alternative to mega calorie drink

Mediapostcom_1205965951446_2 I love the simple and oh-so clear visuals of this campaign. Even if trying to have any addict make the switch from a venti-caramel-frappuccino-with-whip to a green tea that one needs to prepare themselves is quite the stretch, the campaign still has merit.  It  does illustrate the consequences of drinking the Starbucks frothy brews very effectively. It simple and clever and highly visual. Might just take Celestial Seasonings a little time to meet their converts...

Kids€™ Bike Helmet Cover - Cutest Things

Pink_flower_helmet_coverI just got these brand new bicycle helmet covers in the store. Are they totally adorable or what! Created by Gigi'€™s Apparel, they are perfect for covering boring helmets but even more perfect to make sure that your little wee ones want to wear his/her bike helmet. Slip the shower-cap like cover over the helmet and it stays put. It'€™s either adorned with super jumbo flowers -€“ charming for little girls -€“ or gross green worms or spiders. The little boys will love those.

Anyhoo, this is a great gift idea for that toddler or preschooler getting their first tricycle or training wheels! '€˜Wheeling season is around the corner! Get them here.

Inventive Repurposing of Used Water Bottles

Clothing_hanger_3 I've posted about this before (here and here), about how horrible individual plastic water bottles are for our environment. Our family does not buy them anymore... unless we are really, really stranded. We now refill our Sigg water bottles instead.  And, as we all become more aware of this problem, we are seeing many designers coming up with inventive uses for repurposing the plastic water or drink bottle. It's not that any of these ideas will have any great impact on the environmental cause, but it's refreshing to see and to know that our newfound awareness is making its way into original concepts and designs.

By Xuan Ju, engineer and industrial designer comes the plastic bottle clothing hanger: simply assemble two plastic bottles into a hook-hanger by screwing the bottles into the hook.

Or this fun Facade Vase by Orca Design.  In their words:  "Recycled products are often stigmatized as aesthetically inferior and reusing an old product usually means a compromise in the visual appeal". But not so with the elegant "facade" that Orca has designed for this existing "vase" that is the water bottle.

Emmys.com - Clever Billboard Campaign

For those of us not born with a laptop on our laps... It took me a second to realize that there was something incongruous with these images. The younger set might never notice...

This campaign announces that broadband television is now eligible for the Primetime Emmys.
