My Favorite Quote Ever

From Marianne Williamson's book, "A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles".

Mw_head07_02 “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.  Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.   It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us.  We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?  Actually, who are you NOT to be?  Your playing small does not serve the world.  There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won’t feel unsure around you.  We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.  It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.  As we let our own Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.  As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates other.”

I continuously refer to this quote and was discussing it again with friends a couple of nights again, which reminded me to share it on this blog. Even if you've already read it a thousand times, you need to read it AGAIN!. It's still a great reminder that we can become as splendid as we choose to be. Thank you Marianne Williamson!

Antiques of our Future

Antiques_of_the_future

For those of us with a bend for all things design, here is a great book to help us appreciate great design of today.

It features the works of design illuminaries such as Tord Boontje, Marc Newson, Robert Venturi, Niki de Saint Phalle, Naoto Fukasawa to name just a few.

Brilliant and inspiring collection of beautiful and fabulously designed functional objects. Very clever.

The author, Lisa Roberts believes that the objects listed here will become the collectibles of the future and will significantly increase in value once they are no longer in production. That's the only excuse I need to bring some of these objects home with me. You can buy it here.
